I will compare the philosophies of West and East in the essays to follow. As my source material, I will primarily draw on the work of two master historians of philosophy: for the West, Father Frederick Copleston, S.J. and, for the East, Mr. Surendranath Dasgupta. The two seem to be erudite, clear, and fair to all perspectives they write of. The limitations of my study are obvious: I will not list them out here. In the end, this will serve as nothing more than an exercise in contemplative thought by a man who wishes he studied philosophy in college. Philosophy-envy, if you will.
